Our Activities

GODS aims to provide alternative solutions to reduce more usage of chemical fertilizers in chemical agriculture and horticulture practices. We are focusing on organic cultivation, Lisa cultivation methods of cultivation and adopting in farmers’ fields in Tribal areas of Manchippa block in Nizamabad –Telangana state, with own source of funds and funds mobilized from Department of Science and Technology (Ministry of Science and Technology) New Delhi. We are promoted Sri Cultivation, Azolla, Vemi compost preparation, Preparation of Fish amino acid, and adapted rural technology practices like trellies, staking methods to reduce the crop damage in vegetable cultivation, Agroforestry, intercropping, crop rotation, cover cropping, traditional organic composting and integrated crop-animal farming is prominent traditional agricultural practices covering under our extension activities.

GODS AGRICULTURE INITIATIVES

ORGANIC FARMING

Organic farming, also known as ecological farming or biological farming, is an agricultural system that uses fertilizers of organic origin such as compost manure, green manure, Farm yard waste , Bio pesiticides to reducee the usage of chmeical fertilisers in farmers fields . Our aim is to adopt the method of organic farming to imporve the soil fertility , envirionment , bio diversity . With the Support of the Department of Science and Technology (DST) –New Delhi , We promoted organic method of cultivation trainings to the Traibal Farmers in Manchippa Tribal Thanda –Manchippa Nizamabad District .

Preparation of Jeevamrutham and usage of cow dung in farm fileds, and other organic pesticieds peparation trainings also provided for tribal farmers .

Land prepration, Seed Treetment trainings, and Desi seed Distributions was also carried out on free of cost under promotion of organic farming

Natural Resouce Management (NRM)

We worked with Water users associations (WUA’s) under 71 Minor irrigation Tank level in various blocks of Nizamabad District. The objective of the Community Based Tank Management Project in India for selected tank based producers to improve agricultural productivity and water user associations to manage tank systems effectively.

The Project has four components: a) Institutional strengthening which will focus on strengthening community-based institutions like Water Users Associations to enable them to assume greater responsibility for tank system improvement and management and enhancement of tank-based livelihoods; b) Minor Irrigation Systems Improvements which will enhance water use efficiency in tank areas selected under the project; c) Agricultural Livelihoods Support Services which will seek to enhance productivity, production and profitability of tank based agricultural activities.-/9

This component has five sub-components - 1) Agriculture and Horticulture, 2) Livestock, 3) Fisheries, 4) Foreshore Plantation, and 5) Agri-Business and Marketing; and d) Project Management. We worked as Nodal Support Organisation (NSO) for Nizamabad District for this World Bank sponsered Program . We covered 71 Water Users Association under 71 Minor Irrigation tanks.

We worked with amicable co operation of All line departments like Ground Water , Department of Agriculture , Horticulture , Department of Minor Irrigation , Department of Fisheries , in the District . More Than 1.8 Lakhs farmers covered and benefited under this program.

Non Pest Management (NPM)

We provided Trainings and implemented organic methof of cultivation in Traibal Areas of Nizamabad under Department ofScience and Technology (DST) Support. The program covered Use of naturally occurring insecticides, such as Neem tree products, Margosa, Tulsi / Basil Leaf, Citrus Oil, Eucalyptus Oil, Onion, Garlic spray, Essential Oils. Fish Amino Acids , Tobaco bio fertilizers Drava Jeevamrutam , and other elixir’s etc., These also refer to as Organic Pesticides. Use of trap crops which attract the insects away from the fields.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

Education

We are promoting Education for hearing impaired children and running a residential based special school for deaf with the support of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment GOI since 1997 from Class PPI to VII . Special School for Hearing Impaired was recognized by Govt of Telangana.

Health and Sanitation Program

We are promoting improved sanitation, health programs in rural and urban areas of Nizamabad block to control and relevance of communicable diseases. We constructed Twin pit toilets in Manchippa SC Colony under the support of Department of Science and Technology (DST) Seed Division –New Delhi. During the Covid

Drinking Water

To Provide Purified Drinking Water , we established one RO plant at Manchippa SC Colony – Manchippa Village – Nizamabad. We identified a Dumping yard , organized meeting with Village merited leaders and shifted the Dumping yard at isolated place , and constructed the Water purified plant (RO) in same place where previously using as Dumping yard .

Livelihood Enhancement

We promoted Livelihood Enhacement program for Farmers and SHG women , youth to augment their income levels . Our Aim is to empower communities to build sustainable future. This covers Enterprenuership, Skill Development, Social Securty and Health. We provided Live stock units ie Sheep/Goat Rearing units , Mulchi animals, Cows under Dairy program , Tailoring and Embriodery Training , Motor Car Driving , Leaf Plate Making Trainings , Candle Makig Trainings , with support of Department of Science and Technology ,CAPART, FVTRS Banglore . As a part of adoption of mechanised technologies Distributed Tractor , Cultivators , sprayers, bush cutters were also distributed on free of cost to the farmers of target area .

Child Care and Support

We organized 1098 Railway Child Help Desk at Nizamabad Railway station was established in the year 2019 with a SOP Between Railway Board and Ministry of Women and Child Development GOI by Us(GODS) as Nodal support organisation for 1098 Childline India foundation. It is a Child help Desk to provide care and support to run away, abused, children rescued by our team at Nizamabad Railway station. We rescued and reunited more than 600 children with the parents in the period of 4 years. As a part of adoption of mechanised technologies Distributed Tractor , Cultivators , sprayers, bush cutters were also distributed on free of cost to the farmers of target area .
